Mikhaela O’Shaugnessy

I joined HOMS Assist as a legal intern in 2018 and have since gone on to become a solicitor here where I now specialise primarily in the area of civil litigation.

I hold a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from the University of Limerick and have considerable experience in personal injury claims, medical negligence claims, fatal injury claims, industrial accidents and material damage claims. In addition, I regularly practice family law and carry out residential property transactions.  My work has required me to represent private clients in the District, Circuit and High Court.

Whether in court or our offices, I’m dedicated to providing an efficient, timely service and achieving the best possible outcome for our clients. I strive to deliver a highly professional service, always addressing our clients’ concerns and meeting their unique needs.

I am fluent in Portuguese and hold certificates in international business negotiations, technology law and commercial mediation. I have a keen interest in medical negligence cases, having completed an elective in medical law as part of my studies. In 2021, I was selected as an Ambassador for the Law Society of Ireland — of which I am also a member.

A proud Kerry woman,  I enjoy watching GAA matches and socialising with friends in my spare time. I also participate in various volunteering activities, helping to contribute to my community on a personal as well as professional level.
