Professional Profile

About Me: A Journey from Clare to New York and Back

Born in Cratloe, Co Clare, I am deeply rooted in Clare’s rich culture and heritage. My academic journey began at Salesians, Limerick, transitioning to Long Island, New York, following our family’s move through the Morrison Visa program. This move marked the beginning of my diverse and enriching career path, eventually leading me back to Ireland.

Career in Travel, Car Industries and Claims Management

My professional life kicked off at Aer Lingus in New York, where I honed my skills in reservations and ticketing. This experience paved the way for my role in Dublin, where I excelled as a tour agent, crafting unforgettable Irish explorations for US and UK travellers. My passion for the car industry was ignited at Sixt Car Rental in Shannon, Co Clare, inspired by my father, a retired mechanic and former Aer Lingus mechanic at Shannon Airport. Here, I began to merge my interest in cars with my emerging expertise in claims management, particularly in vehicle damage claims coordination.

Legal Career and Education

Eager to expand my skill set, I embarked on a legal secretarial course at night, which led to a pivotal career change. In 2007, I joined HOMS, starting in the commercial department and later transitioning to Plaintiff Litigation. My dedication to further education continued with a legal executive course in 2009, alongside weekend work at the Shannon Clubhouse and playing rugby with Shannon RFC.

Personal Life and Community Involvement

In 2010, I entered a new personal chapter, marrying and welcoming three children between 2013 and 2016. My career took another significant turn in 2015 when I joined Browne & Murphy, spearheading the material damage department and managing PIRB claims for nearly a decade. My role as a vehicle damage claims coordinator has been a cornerstone of my career, emphasising my skills in claims management.

While I no longer participate in team sports, my passion for rugby thrives. I currently coach the Shannon RFC U10s, soon to be U11s, imparting my love for the game to the next generation. This role allows me to contribute meaningfully to a sport that has enriched my life immensely.

Conclusion: A Story of Growth and Community

My journey from Clare to New York and back, navigating through diverse careers in travel, car, and legal sectors, especially focusing on vehicle damage claims coordination underscores my resilience, adaptability, and dedication to my roots and community. I am continually seeking to learn and embrace new challenges, with a commitment to personal and professional growth.
