Professional Profile

I am a Partner and the Head of HOMS Assist’s Cork office, specialising in personal injury law, with a particular focus on serious injuries, medical negligence, and cases that involve accidents occurring abroad. Additionally, my expertise extends to defamation law, where I have garnered significant experience over my fifteen-year career.

My career has been driven by a passion for helping people, underpinned by a profound empathy and understanding towards each client’s unique situation. I believe in a professional yet personable approach, aiming to secure the best possible outcome for my clients during what can often be a challenging period in their lives.

Hailing from Douglas, Cork, my roots are deeply embedded in the local community. Beyond my professional life, I am deeply involved in coaching my children’s football, hurling, and rugby teams, showcasing my commitment to fostering team spirit and resilience from a young age. My dedication to Munster rugby is unwavering, and in the precious moments of tranquillity, I immerse myself in the pages of a good book.

A quirky fact about me – I am a world record holder, having participated in the largest game of ring-a-rosy, an event organised to support the Cork City Hospital Children’s Club.

My academic background includes an MSc in Regulation from the London School of Economics, an LLM and a BCL from University College Cork, and a B.E.D. from Mary Immaculate College. Further enhancing my expertise in the medical field, I hold a Diploma in Healthcare Law from the Law Society of Ireland and was qualified as a Solicitor in 2004.

Specialising as a Personal Injury Lawyer and handling Medical Negligence Claims, I am dedicated to providing top-tier legal services. My approach is always tailored to the individual needs of my clients, ensuring they receive the utmost care and a strategy designed to deliver the best outcome.

I look forward to offering my legal expertise and support to those in need of guidance through their personal injury or medical negligence claims.

John was outstanding. He was very professional and nice to deal to deal with. The only way to improve the service would be for them to move closer to Kerry!

John was amazing! The service was excellent, really efficient and professional. He explained everything and was so nice to me
