On May 16, 2024, the picturesque setting of the Dunraven Arms in Adare came alive with laughter, camaraderie, and a shared purpose at the St Gabriel’s Foundation Ladies’ Luncheon. Members of the HOMS Assist were honoured to once again support this remarkable organisation, joining hands with our esteemed guests for a day that celebrated the power of community and the importance of giving back.
A Day of Unity and Purpose
The luncheon was more than just a gathering; it was a testament to the strength and generosity of our local community. As attendees enjoyed the beautiful surroundings and delicious food, the real highlight remained the shared commitment to support St Gabriel’s Foundation and its invaluable work.
About St Gabriel’s Foundation
St Gabriel’s Foundation is a beacon of hope for approximately 1,600 children in the Limerick region, providing essential clinical services to those with complex needs. The foundation leads two Children’s Disability Network Teams, strategically located in Dooradoyle and the southern part of the city, ensuring comprehensive care and accessibility. Furthermore, a new outreach clinic in Charleville now serves families in south county Limerick, bringing critical services closer to home.
Comprehensive Care for Children
The dedicated teams at St Gabriel’s work tirelessly to address key areas in a child’s development, from functional skills to emotional regulation and language development. Their specialised services cater to children from birth to 18 years, offering support tailored to each child’s unique needs.
St Gabriel’s Special School
Educating 64 children with complex physical and medical needs, St Gabriel’s Special School stands as a pillar of inclusive education. The school’s approach is holistic, aiming not only to educate but also to nurture and support each child’s overall well-being.
Social Enterprises: Orthotics Clinic and Hydrotherapy Pool
Beyond its educational and clinical services, St Gabriel’s operates two notable social enterprises. The Orthotics Clinic and Hydrotherapy Pool at the Dooradoyle campus serve both children and adults, providing specialised services that significantly enhance the quality of life for the wider community. These facilities underscore the foundation’s commitment to inclusive support accessible to all.
Children’s Respite House
Located in Moneteen, Mungret, Co. Limerick, the Children’s Respite House offers overnight nursing-led care for children with complex medical needs. This vital service provides much-needed respite for families in the Mid-West, ensuring that children receive professional and compassionate care in a safe environment.
The Impact of Community Support
The success of the St Gabriel’s Foundation Ladies’ Luncheon is a shining example of what can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared vision. The funds raised during the event go directly towards enhancing the services provided by St Gabriel’s Foundation, ensuring that more children and families benefit from their exceptional care.
At HOMS Assist, our team are deeply committed to supporting initiatives that make a real difference in our community. The work done by St Gabriel’s Foundation is nothing short of transformative, and we are proud to stand by their side.
