Almost 50 of our team ran and walked for the charity Headway in the 2019 Regeneron Great Limerick Run on Sunday 5th May. Headway provides brain injury services and supports to patients and their families. We are still collecting sponsorship monies and we will have final figures of the total amount raised soon.
Working together as a team is integral to us at HOMS Assist. This year, we wanted to support Headway Ireland for the incredible work they do. Many of us in the office have seen the work that they do to support people affected by stroke or brain injury.

Congratulations go to all of our team, and the Headway team, who took part and helped out on the day. A congratulatory special shout out also goes to Kevin Hegarty who completed his first marathon. We have organised various other fundraising events for Headway during the year, including a Bake for Brain Injury Awareness Week coffee morning with sweet treats. Last week we also hosted a Rail-Sale, where pre-loved clothing was donated by staff and sold to raise funds.

“Working together as a team is integral to us at HOMS Assist, and the Regeneron Great Limerick Run is also particularly important to us every year as a national, yet Limerick based event. This year, we wanted to support Headway Ireland for the incredible work they do, and many of us in the office have seen the remarkable work that they do to support people affected by stroke or brain injury.”

“Headway are delighted to have HOMS Assist onboard as our charity partner, it’s fantastic to have such a large, well established and reputable organisation rooting for us and supporting us to continue to deliver specialist rehabilitation services to people with acquired brain injury in the mid-west region. Our aim is to help rebuild life after brain injury by supporting those affected to make the most of their potential, improve their quality of life and their level of independence. Each person is unique as is each brain injury so all services are individually tailored based on need and goals for recovery. A video introduction is available here about what we do and what people can expect when they walk through our doors."

The funds raised by HOMS Assist through their participation in the Regeneron Great Limerick Run on behalf of Headway will help us to deliver vital therapeutic services to those affected by brain injury, to help them lead their best life. In addition to this by wearing the Headway t-shirt on the day HOMS Assist increased awareness of Headway and Brain injury in the mid-west.
Thank you for making a difference!”
